| Frank Charles, "Open Minds" Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar / Band Leader The dynamic stage presence of Frank Charles has captured national recognition on the World Beat Circuit. His music reflects the small town of Swetes Village, Antigua where he grew up on the true sounds of the Caribbean. In this small town, Frank discovered that the difference between entertainment and a band is interaction with the audience. He has developed his performances to promote audience participation and provide maximum entertainment. Frank’s classical and jazz training adds a new and unique dimension to traditional Caribbean music. He has cleverly combined the soft island sounds of the Caribbean with the structure needed to satisfy a diverse audience. Nationally renowned Rupert Blaize and the Hard Currency Band and The Sitones are only two of the bands that Frank has played with. His band has also played at venues up and down the East Coast including The Atlanta Airport Hilton and Towers, Skippers Smokehouse in Tampa, Fl, The Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ, Disney Corporation in Orlando, Fl, and Schaefers Canal House and Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake, Md. Locally, Open Minds has played at the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant in Dunwoody, the Palm Beach restaurant in McDonough, the Country Club of the South in Alpharetta, and the Achasta Country Club in Dahlonega. |
